Engine Bar - X89K Casa Flat one Side Bar

Postby DaveTomo » Sat Feb 16, 2019 6:19 pm

Anyone used one of these ? Just after a bit of feedback,
1) once in do they move at all?
2) straight forward to fit? and fit OK?

I've seen the install video, seems easy enough - just after some real world experience of them.Appreciate your help

Fitted several, use them in my race scooters, fantastic bit of kit, I'm not a lover of the original off set, but these are the biz!

There is a lack of clarity with this product.
It's advertised as suitable for S1, S2, S3, GP and Serveta.
Innocenti changed the Cone design back in 62 when they moved over to the larger silentblock mounting design.
So, I suspect it will fit either the earlier or the later frames but not both.
Can anyone clarify?

Fitted in my series 1, Indian engine casing, seemed a bit tight when initially fitting with the casing being tight to the cones, but when in movement and spacing okay.

Surely the cone angles are the same, they just changed the cones from short engine bar(small engine mounts). To long engine bar(big engine mounts)The Lambretta shops ie. Scooter Restorations etc.only sell
these cones, they dont mention the angles.

I have two of these engine bars, the cones tho protrude from the tube by 4mm each side of the tube, thus making it impossible to fit the engine.I have tried tapping the cones flush with the tube, this closes the cone meaning the bar will not slide thru.
I spoke to the supplier 10 days ago, they were surprised but agreed to send replacement cones.I am still waiting for the cones to arrive.
So my experience is I have a problem and am waitng for a solution to be reached.
So I couldn't recommend them yet.
Are there different cone angles?Have the cones I have been machined wrong?Am I doing something wrong?

What frame are you trying to fit this to Roli?

Well I bit the bullet and bought the Casa bar - all good, a little bit tight compared to the 50 odd year old cones they were replacing (to be expected I suppose) but went in OK and lined up- appreciate the feedback chaps. For reference SX150 frame
Roli150lam hope you get yours sorted mate

Thanks,me too.
I don't want to be hammering the bar thru, defeats the purpose of the cones imo.

reviving this thread,
just tried to fit the above cones and bar, cones protrude both sides of the frame tube too much to fit the engine into the frame. Frame is Italian GP125,1970.
then tried in to my Li150 frame hanging in the workshop same problem, then tried in my Li150 series 3 frame same again.
Was there ever a problem with a batch ?
Bought around 18/24 months ago.
Looks like i may have to get them machined down somewhere ,unless someone can suggest another solution.
thanks in advance.

I had to have a set machined down too. I never tried to find out whether there was a batch problem.

I had the same too, ended up grinding them down to suit.
