C2C and Derby event listed in Scootering mag

Postby bike grim » Sun Nov 20, 2016 8:07 pm

The mag (which I get subscribed to every year as a pressie from a family member and it comes through the door early) has listed 2017 rally dates and other significant events on pg 7 of the latest issue including LCGB C2C on May 12-14 and LCGB Derby Event August 19th. Presumably post Brid info.

Are these set in stone?

It'll be a pity if they are and we find out LCGB dates from a 3rd party..............

I'd have thought the members forum or Jetset would have been more appropriate to show the dates.

Hahah Col.... I have to say I would only read it in WHSmith if I had to buy myself. Keeping very well thanks, hope you are to and that you accomplished your mission this year. Not seen you since Olivers Mount. Have to have a catch up somewhere

All

The dates mentioned in Scootering are correct for our Coast to Coast event and Derby 150 Event.

Details to be finalised, venues etc.

The reason they ended up being printed in scootering is they were merely mentioned in conversation at the BSRA meeting at Bridlington.

The full LCGB BSM 2017 calendar will be announced at the club AGM in January.

Best Regards

Craig

Cool, good to see the club offering more ridden events.
2 of the best in the same year.
Only question is how can they better the last C2C route.

dunno, but us non scootering subscribers gotta wait until it hits the shelves for the dates :-(

So, looks like theres a few different levels of info which being an lcgb member doesnt help, looks like being a scootering subscriber is more advantageous :-/ Pretty poor from an ordinary member point of view :-(

Wouldve been nice if we'd been informed as a member before scootering tells us, or even before scootering subscribers ( many of them NOT loyal LCGB members) find out.?

Dont see a problem with the C2C dates being "leaked"
Just as long that members get the location first making it easier to book hotels.

I was at the meeting, the LCGB have to ear mark the dates for their big events to ensure they don't clash or others don't plan events on those dates. I'm pretty sure plenty of people would moan if it clashed with other big name rallies....

Nice Logic,
Be good if this forward planning could filter down to clubs that are planning events for LCGB members hoping to be on the BSM calendar. completely unaware if they're wasting their time as they are "competing" against other clubs with similar plans in similar areas on similar dates.

Are you suggesting that every club, National and Local should attend the BSRA meeting to ensure that nothing clashes? It could turn a very well ordered meeting into a bun-fight. I think your expectations are too high.

It is perhaps best to assume that your meeting will clash with another rally, but plan for it. There is no doubt that if you want a successful rally, you need to deliver the best experience so you attract either the biggest possible crowd, or the best attendees.

Not a lot of riders who attended the last C to C did the planned route, most people did the hardknot pass and missed out on the Batteredbum pass , sorry, Buttertub pass . :) hopefully and quite rightly everyone will stick to the route next year as a lot of what it's about is seeing lots of other scooters on the road during the ride .

I have no idea, nothing else was mentioned. I am not apart of the inner workings of the club and I am not aware of anything else mentioned (even if I was I'd let the committee announce at the AGM). I was at the meeting to represent the Young Guns SC and potentially suggest some changes at rallies the youth would like to see.

Maybe the C2C is down South next year? A new route might be good.
