exhaust nuts

Hi, folks has anyone any tips on stopping the nuts on my exhaust manifold coming loose? one tightens up ok but I don't seem to be able to really get to the other to tighten it and in turn eventually loosens both, thanks

Your probably best loosening the cylinder cowling and moving it as far as you can to give access to the nuts , make sure both studs are in good nick and apply Loctite to the brass nuts as you put them on , not forgetting to put a spring washer and thin washer between the brass nut and flange

Got to nip em up tight first time and I always use Loctite on brand new studs and brass nuts. I cut a spanner down to give better access to the flywheel side. I also have 3 different make spanners all identified with tape in the toolbox to accommodate qll the little 1/8 turns when the spanner won't fit on.
Terrible design !

Nord-lock washers or Knuts.
M7 Knuts require a smaller spanner which makes it a little easier to get into the exhaust nuts but they aren't cheap.

Try.... Chain guide tab washer cut in half, wi holes drilled 7mm
Works a treat !

Currently I run long plain 10 mm hexagon nuts (run a M7 tap through an M6 nut. They are the same pitch) with lock wire between the two pulling each Clockwise.

It’s an easy fix & amazing how the smaller hexagon gives so much more spanner room or even allows a ¼” drive socket to fit.
