I'm booked in at the Premier near the airport which is 'said' to be 1.2 miles so walkable? (or staggerable lol)

I will add that Stoneham lane is closed from mid morning til 6 pm at the Eastleigh football club end. This is to allow full pedestrian access for supporters going to & leaving the match. Eastleigh FC are at home that day against Tranmere rovers so expect a few thousand people walking down there. If you allow yourself time you'll miss all that anyway.

If you access the event from the M27 (airport junction) which I wholly advise, follow the signs for A335 - Southampton/Swaythling & go down the dual carriageway until the first set off lights, (there is a low bridge opposite) go into the right hand filter lane & turn right A27 - into Bassett green road, head on up a hill to another set of lights, turn right again into Stoneham lane, through a couple of S bends & BTC is on your right.

If you're a football fan, keep your eye on the results of Tranmere, Braintree and Eastleigh today. It is likely that the Eastleigh v Tranmere game will be a big game next week as both are going for the play offs and this game will be their next to last of the season. A big game in Non League terms that is :-)

After tonight's blank its like a flaming cup.final now!!

Most Tranmere fans are resigned to missing out on play offs and just want the manager gone. I know a few lads going but most are staying at home, sulking.

Its blazing here right now.. 8-)

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Cloudier and cooler on Friday with rain spreading east and a freshening northeast wind. Cold northerly winds through the weekend with sunny intervals and scattered wintry showers, and overnight frost. :?

A reminder that should anyone be stuck to get home, Kevin Bell of Velocity scooters will have a stall which will hopefully help you out.

A back up van will be following the route 'somewhere' and a phone number is provided if something terminal happens, but space is obviously limited,

Choosing the hotel option is starting to seem like a good idea now ;)

All is not lost for them. Eastleigh have struggled against the bottom teams of late. If I was tranmeres manager the only option now is to go for it on Saturday. I think it'll be a blinder.

Many thanks to the Solent Cougars for their splendid work in organising the SDR16 yesterday.

A great part of the world and it was good to explore it, for the first time, from the seat of my Lambretta.

well done all who organised and all who attended (especially the brave campers)

The ride was fantastic. Being local I ride these routes on a regular basis. It was great to share this part of the country with other club members. Well done to the organisers. More of the same please.
Paul.

Yeah, that would've been me. :-/

Searching a venue, getting badges, stickers, complimentary pop, volunteers on site, dietary and beer requirements, sorting eight hours of playlists, e tickets and cheques with sae's, people badgering us for tickets after the cut off point, people selling their tickets then changing their minds, inboxes full of people asking the same questions for weeks on end... that was a doddle compared to organising that route.

It's difficult when there's only two roads that any sane person would use in that area, the A272 & the A27/M27.

We did the A272 on the way out so didn't really want to go back that way, nor did we want to send people down a motorway, so zig-zagging across country taking in some decent scenery was the way forward. I did it twice, done over £100 in petrol and doubled back several times. I had two satnavs on the go which kept trying to send me down single track farm roads, so I shouted at the devices on several occasions and stuck to my instincts. I understand I made one error, I apologise for that, but the unintended turn resolved itself as riders soon ended up on the road they were meant to.

Everyone got back and feedback suggests it went extremely well and all enjoyed it. I know I did. Especially Friday night.

Cheers to all that came, all 200 of you.
