Hi. My name is matt, I'm 39, from york.

Just bought my first scooter, going to do a full restoration. Pictures:-



















Going to be a fairly long restoration, I'll post pictures as I progress. Any advice/suggestions most welcome.

I'm in need of a leg shield, horn cast, side panels and foot boards, please let me know if anyone has some lying around.

My first update to this thread, been a while

Not much progress on the scooter. I was told by the wife that I'm not allowed to restore her in the garage (thought that's what garages were for? ). So was instructed to build a workshop in the garden. Work has commenced

Walls finished, started the roof tonight. Hopefully be finished by the start of august, so I can move liberty in.



On the scooter front I've managed to source a few parts. Firstly some Indian side panels - £25 delivered for the pair





They seem to fit well. There's no hole for the panel handles, but I can add that plus a small boss easily enough. Any other differences to the Italian panels I need to know about?

Also obtained a mudguard from ebay



That's it for now, hopefully be on to stripping her by early august. Thanks for looking.

Hi Matt, sorry to say you've bought the wrong panels mate, the type you need have no recess in the pressing, so you'll need some like these....

Cheers boys shed is taking some time to build, and I'm itching to get into the strip down of the scooter. But a decent workshop is a good place to start I suppose

There's a sixth child somewhere, but she's a teenager now and won't let dad take photos of her

Unfortunately I have to work a lot of hours to fund my large brood, leaves little time for projects, which is why this one will probably take decades

The little fellas, known as "the twins" are the ones who scattered the nails, monkeys!!! But yep, they were fine, poor lads have two older sisters and two old brothers, means they learn to be tough quickly

Few minor updates.

Firstly workshop roof is on and felted. Wood preservative put on.



It's not finished, but the wife has already strategically placed plants

Need to do doors, windows, electrics, insulation and board the internal walls, then the restoration can begin

One more piece of the puzzle has arrived, lovely horncast.

Great shed, but how are you going to get the scooter out ? There doesn't seem to be a path down the side of your house ?

Good question! The garage leads to a utility room to the back garden, so long as the handlebars will go through a normal door, that will be fine.

More worrying is how I'm going to get the scooter into the workshop! The path the mrs had me build is about 75mm deep in stones, so the scooter will just sink into it. Then I've got to lift it another foot to get her inside!!

Perhaps a full strip down on the lawn
