Sunburst Finish

Postby Storkfoot » Fri Oct 09, 2015 9:03 pm

Well, having ridden several thousand (non-Lambretta) miles over the Summer, I'm now on the way back to having a Lambretta back on the road. This was it at the start of the year:

The frame has been straightened in Lancashire, blasted in Clwyd, Painted in Cheshire. Now it's back home :D

Please await developments :P

You may have rumbled me ;-) There's a link between the paint colour, a old custom scooter with extended chrome forks, and Bill Nelson :geek:

Have you ever seem those auto press sneak preview photos of new cars? You now, the ones where the manufacturers mask the true shape of the car :P

I wouldn't waste all that bubble wrap on a GTS, mate. The clue to the name of the thread is the above paragraph only.

Yep. Colour of scoot is Ford Sunburst Red which is the colour Taffspeed used alongside the buttercup yellow on some of their race bikes. I have always liked the cover of the Be Bop Deluxe album of the same name. Lastly, there was a custom lammy back in the 80s which was based on the album cover. I have a picture of it somewhere in an old Scooter Scene. It was a cracking paint job.

Daz, don't get too excited. I'm not one for lashing loads of hard earned on a really fancy paint job. Nice but not fancy as I'd be too scared to ride the bloody thing ;-)

I need to rebuild forks, replace front disc hub bearings and get front disc repainted before I start rebuild ;-)

That's it :-) I think it had extended chrome forks at one time too. Yours?
