Rich Taylor and Eden currently showing out of stock

Cambridge are selling these as an alternative, claiming not to require doubling up
Any feedback please - do these work OK?

https://www.lambretta.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=9016

Obvs a bit more expensive, however if no doubling up required..

I only ever ran clubman type exhausts on my GT186. I never had a reed let go on the exhaust side.

Thanks

I'm up Huntington tomorrow on a Lambretta based errand
I plan to call by Cambridge Lambretta and ask about the Boyesen petals whilst I'm in the area

I couldn’t resist clicking the CamLam link & despite the Boyeson reputation, I doubt I’d go that route when the product listing states:

For Race Use Only - Click for Explanation

which reveals the following:

An item sold "for race use only" does not come with a traditional manufacturer warranty. It may carry an extremely limited warranty that voids coverage the moment the part is installed or used in competitive conditions.

The issue of alternatives to the reeds supplied by Gran Turismo has been aired before, notably on Scooterotica some 10 years ago & one solution mentioned is to make your own using Polini carbon fibre sheet. DIY reed manufacture is nothing new in racing circles & the way I see it, with the get-out clause stated above, easily the best solution. I dare say that alternative sheet supply to Polini would save even more costs, but I haven’t shopped around, though Polini has a good reputation.

I hope this response gives an additional view in the interest of choice ;)

Hi are the kartstoreuk one a direct replacement for the GT reeds?

They look similar

I did a little research and yes I think these are a direct replacement as the reed valve assembly is from a IAME KA100 kart engine to my understanding.
I’ve not physically tried to confirm.

I’ve also been told RB reeds fit but need some trimming.

I’ve now fitted and used the Boyesen dual stage reeds. Only a short ride to club night.
All well, time will tell as the longevity.
