ld150- ignition

Postby scoot2 » Sun Jun 07, 2026 5:47 pm

I have a 57 ld150 mk3 but cannot get a spark at the plug, green wire has a good spark when flashed to engine, not an earth issue as now havw multiple earths connect from frame to engine, once green wire connected to coil (which i have also replaced and makes no difference) no spark from ht lead, any ideas would be appreciated, cheers

Sounds to me like the wiring is not hooked up correctly. The green wire is to kill the ignition. Could you explain what you are doing when you when you "flash" the green wire to the engine?

Reading your post again, It sounds like you are feeding power to the coil through the green wire. This is incorrect. It is not a battery ignition. It is a self-powered magneto. The battery just runs the lights.
