How comfy are these seats please?

What are they like on a rally going scooter?

I had one on my s3 for a few years and was quite happy with it.
Definitely a firm ride, but you can slide up and down along it to adjust position when riding.
Having said that it was more than 10 years ago and I certainly notice the bumps, aches and pains more these days(got variations of the Pegasus on my scoots now).

Couple more things I remember Paul, the catch scratched the paintwork on my frame (usual) and there were a lot of people after i when I sold it, so obviously popular

Had two if not three of these in previous years & they are prone to splitting around the central frame, my experience anyway & i'm not exactly fat Bob, could do with better metal frame or strenghting...clearly not as comfortable as a sprung seat & we all end up walking like a cowboy after a few hundred mile!

Thanks again for the replies. I have swapped messages with a dealer who has one in stock in the UK. They aren’t willing to commit to the handle not catching on the frame, so I have ditched the idea of buying one.

I've got one that I've had a long time, just checked and it doesn't catch the frame.
I once went to Brid about 100 miles though and I was in agony..
If I go long distance it gets swapped for a standard Giuliari and a big back rack.
Looks good though. I had one of their Elvingtons, went round the block and felt
like an elephant in high heels, also weakened my jetting but that's another story.

Ouch Being in agony after little more than one petrol stop is not selling it to me

I asked the question as I currently have a very well made recent Giuliari copy with horsehair and a Casa (I think) cover. It looks good but it is too hard for me, with or without the horsehair.

As I have ditched the idea of the Scootopia Ancillotti seat, I have just bought an original Aquila TV175 seat frame which I’ll restore with a Casa cover. I have one of these seats on another scooter so I know they have the potential to be a good relatively comfortable rally seat. Hopefully.

I’ve had a few of these seats. Great looking seat really compliments any lambretta I think. Unfortunately not the most comfortable of seats. But with it been hinged it’s easy to fit an air hawk to sit in when travelling. Also easy to remove for that look no standard seat will ever offer. I’ve had 3 on different scooters and never scratched the frame. They haven’t been available for a longtime from scootopia , are they producing them again ?

I've had a couple of the cut back ones in the past with no issues. I tried to get another a few years back and they said they had some frames made up but hadn't got them upholstered. If its the design your after with a bit more padding ask Corky to do you a copy of one.

CamLam have one of the cutback variety for sale. More expensive than Scootopia used to sell them at. I think this was from a batch that Scootopia managed to get done last year.

I’m awaiting the standard TV Aquila frame which should come today. If it’s as comfy as the same seat that I have on my TV175, it’ll be a big improvement on the seat I have on this Lambretta now.

Air Hawks. I’m probably one of the few riders who has never really been able to get on with mine. I should force myself to give it another go this year

The seat has arrived. With powder coating and a new cover, it’s going to end up more expensive than the Scootopia would have been.

I have a similar seat on my SX. The manufacturer name is stamped on the hinge without a name plate as yours has.
Top tip Ive kept the original vinyl and stitching really supple with a generous dollop of mink oil to preventing it splitting. Surprisingly the vinyl absorbs the mink oil similar to leather. Just leave a few hours and wipe off excess.
I have the original seat strap but prefer it not fitted as its uncomfortable
