Yes, mine takes a good few kicks if not been started for a while, but 1st kick from warm/hot thereafter. I wondered if it's unspent fuel pooling in the rubber elbow of the Casa PowerFlow air filter fitted to a Dellorto PHBH 30mm. I have the elbow/filter fitted horizontally facing backwards due to the shape of my mid range tank, as it's the only position I can get it to retain its shape without it being squished underneath a Jet 200 panel.
I may try to fit a drain/breather tube to the rubber elbow to see if this helps with the cold starting.
Btw, the kit is an Avanti 225 (piston port), my timing is 17 degrees static with 1.5mm squish & Champion N3 plug.
Dellorto PHBH 30mm, 70 choke, 55 pilot, 40 slide.
