A good fire extinguisher for non electrical fires is a good old squeezy bottle ( a la Blue Peter ) with water in it ,had one to hand when welding up old rusty cars years ago and setting light to sound deadning material was power for the course.
I assume you mention a fire extinguisher for any possible, fires not your youngsters :o
Although the squeezy bottle works just fine on youngsters on the one hot day of the year ;)

Bit of GSC progress, bodywork prep mainly.

The old sign writing had to eventually go

Image

Image

Image

Mammoth filling session starts to tidy toolbox door area and top of loop

Image

30+ hrs later filling and sanding

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Plenty more prep work to go. Doing a couple of crash hats too.
My 1st lid... TMX2000!!!!
Image

... and a piss pot. Probably only for leaning the bike on!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Leggies nearly finished, final coats of spray putty, nearly ready for final floor runner drilling. Leggies have been a bit of a nightmare to get straight. Should probably have used some new ones to save the endless filling and shaping.

More dry building, August Bank Hols deadline fast approaching for road trip with Brazillian LA.

Image

Headset build up.
Knackered bar end
Image

Went posh with MB brass bits for gearchange side
Image

Stripped QA and noticed master cylinder mirror housing directly in cable route
Image
Dremel out. Sorted.
Image

Back to gearchange side for Yam clutch lever fitting to match brake
Image
Image
Image

Fitted MB stainless rod and QA gear wheel, don't know how effective it will be mind. Had to Dremel bout 20mm out of gear housing slot to get brass bush to sit in correct position to allow gear wheel to line up with cable slots. See above.
Image

Headset top rim threads were knacked so got a blob of ally done and retapped.
Image
Image
Image

It's an early Indian headset so still Italian styled. Bought a new Scootopia GP headlight unit from Corrado but the rim was a mile out, headset fault, not rim. Files out for more fettling.
Image
Image
Image

Bingo. Bit more tweaking req'd, not perfect on the bottom edge but getting there

More dry building....

Horncase mounting as top lugs been cut off for shortened steering column. Welds to tidy.
Image
Image

Floor runner Mock ups and drilling using Vep runners, not an exact fit on the leggy curves.
Image
Image
Image

Rear brake pin had previously been removed for racer styling, got given one off a mate but was a bit mullered
Image
Needed some dimensions, which I got off BLA Nobbly
Image
Image
Image

Brake pedal mounted
Image
Image

Rear brake cable support bracket
Image
Image
Image

Prepping continues ...
Image

Some 80s-Tastic add-ons. Kwaka dampers rubbed down and an 80s headlight grille.

No idea Gaz, it's an MB jobby, but they've since changed suppliers and don't come with the 'knuckles' anymore.

eBay but big postage.

Bit more dry building... all welds to be tidied later!!!

Hydraulic hose guides

QA throttle cable

Sorting out the loom

When I offered up the outer cables to check for routings, I wasn't happy with the way they entered and exited the frame,
the angles were too tight on the slots I had created. Out with a torch and some round bar...

This is better than sex. Mind you, if you could see my Mrs lying next to me, you would probably think a plastic rev n go was better.

Top work
