Solid Air rebuilt

It's taken the 7 months since breaking the flywheel on the way to the Isle of Mull rally to do a full rebuild on Solid Air. Back on the road again now and running in the new small block GT kit in preparation for Adria.

I need to change insurance companies as Aviva only insure on the market value. I think it would cost about 5k to replace it as is for insurance purposes, any suggestions on who to speak to for a classic/specified value policy?

Insurance? Try Allstyles (TR Youngs) at Clacton Road, Elmstead Market, Colchester.

I've used Allstyles too for last few years. I have never had to claim, which is usually the acid test of how good an insurance company is, however, I've never had any big hikes in premium and I've always been able to easily swap emails and phone calls when making amendments to policies.

Nice scoot by the way. What happened to the flywheel out of interest?

The flywheel lost the will to live at Loch Lomond, the strengthening weld developed a big crack around the central boss.

I like them Nudger and wouldn't like to ride without it now. Not as convenient as a handlebar mounted mirror but my elbow always blocks the view with them anyway. Just gives you enough of an idea of what's going on behind you but I still always do a shoulder check before I move. Hope this helps.

Nice work , how do you find the Conti Move Tyres or Anlas as they are now ?

I really like the Conti's, prefer them over the Michelin Citygrip, very sure footed throughout the year so hoping the Anlas carry that on but haven't tried them yet.

Nice one i used them all last year on one scooter and reated them , still waiting to see someone using the Anlas tyres
