Legshield beading on, bit of extra trimming to the leggies req'd, showed up a couple of lumps and bumps.

400x10s on front and back, look massive. Will need to shave the bumpstop on the case I'm using.

Great build, I really like the proportions on this. What exhaust/engine configuration are you planning?

Got to agree about the proportions - the leggies and glove box look as of they were manufactured like that.
Great thread.....

Hoping for an iron 247 with DJ copy pipe. 71 bore 62 crank. Got the barrel but no crank yet. It's an old Kawasaki conversion barrel and I've got a Wossner H2 piston to fire in there. Motor is a long way off yet!

Thanks for the rest of the comments. ;)

Nice work... but please promise me that you'll fit the top beading end-caps the other way around (screw heads seen from the inside) when you build it for real?

Ta :)

Really? Hold my ignorant hands up to that one. Thankfully no room for a chequered flag on leggies. Adam, you are Mr GP in OCD. I promise to turn em around if we can make a date for transfer timing on your 62 crank. ;)

Not having owned a GP I did a quick trawl on Google - of the pictures with large enough resolution to see there's a lot more out there using the same orientation as yourself... ;)

May I ask what you did to the leg shield beading/rubbers to get them to fit and stay there ?
Did you cut the wavey part out of the inside of the rubber ?
Thanks

This should be the same orientation on all Innocenti SIIIs but I've noted SIL GPs having plastic beading caps the 'wrong' way around. Whilst this link takes you to a Rimini restored GP/DL, the photos are very clear as to which way they should go. If you struggle to see the screw ends from the front, have a look at the clear photo of the ignition switch / back of headset, in which you can very clearly see the screw heads...

... nearly as frustrating as GP flag being 180 or 90 degrees out! ;)

thinking out loud...... could you fit some sort of deflector plate behind the toolbox vents to divert any rainwater from electrics and put a drain hole in bottom of toolbox?

Hello Duncan, I haven't done anything to the inside of the beading. I was going to weld some strips to edge of leggies to hold beading on but I've gone off that idea, don't wanna fcuk the shape up with my poor welding... gonna silicon them on now.

Could be a plan, left the toolbox alone for a bit now. Might revisit later or just go with it.

Bit of progress on GSC...

Welded up some old holes and cut some new cable slots

Quick Action throttle, needs a polish up
Image

Mocking up rear light position, not a lot of room on back end
Image

Making up no plate holder

Starting prep work on leggies, they're a bit battered. Getting feckin dusty in the garage now. Endless filling and sanding.

Popped a couple of extra leggy supports on, one would have been enough for the Vega leggies previously intended

TBC...

Hi ,Yes I was going to cut and alter the bits of the leg shields that I cut off mine but came to the conclusion that the amount of work involved could not be justified for the net result. in other words a waste of time :)
I have just pushed on regular uncut beading for the time being although it will need some glue.

Oh looking good by the way.
You have about as much room to work in your garage as me at the moment .
Drag some sheets off the beds to cover the rest of your fleet up from dust, just be careful when you start grinding or welding ;)

There are better ways to raise your heart rate !
I have a rule of not welding anything for an hour before shutting up shop .
