Viton in fuel taps

Postby Knowledge » Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:33 pm

We spend a fair bit of time spent discussing Viton seals on the crank, but do any of the available fuel taps have Viton in them?

It seems obvious that they should.

(“Viton” auto-corrected to “citron” when I originally posted this message)

Lemon juice in fuel taps. Hmmm not come across that one Knowledge

I have had many a problem with the rubber seal tho, especially in new taps of dubious origin which swell up within hours of being subjected to E10 fuel.
I make my own seals cut from a sheet of 1mm thick Viton sheet which I got from Ali-express a few years ago.
Problem solved.
