The engine build is now complete, I just need to finish the rest of the jobs done to finish the job
Dyno day up at Raven Motorcycles near Darlington yesterday, and very productive it was too. Once it's all built, I will get a few running-in miles done then head back up north for fine tuning and step-testing.
At peak power, between 6,500-7,000 revs, the numbers are 26 bhp and 21ft/lb of torque.
It would have been possible to have tuned the barrel to get the numbers a lot higher, but it was a grunty touring engine that I was after. It has been built for a purpose, and to my requirements. I also wanted to be able to use a bigger than standard crank to reduce the risk of twisting. The Casa Case allows this and we have actually used a 70x120 item, this gives the higher cc while still only using a 70mm piston. The bore and stroke are intentionally square and the state of tune has been kept purposely low for our requirements. This will all hopefully give me a good level of reliability too.
Cheers, Mark
