Dl125 motor rebuild

I've just managed to buy a complete dl125 motor. Having never stripped or rebuilt a motor the plan is to have a go at rebuilding a spare motor rather than work on an original motor from one of my scoots

I'm looking at some kits and im quite keen on a old skool cast iron kit and tune. I know Gori do a kit any views on others? what sort of Specs etc?

Any advice would be welcome ie

What I should avoid, what should I definitely do during the build, gearing. Cranks etc.

I know its a small block motor but I want to achieve a very fast motor with reliability.

Kris

my friend has a casa 185.. does the job really well, I've just fitted a 200 muggy, early days, but seems good, also have the 186 version on a couple of scoots, highly reccomended

Take your pick but you can't have both ;)

If it's only a cast kit it does narrow your options, The GT gets good reviews and advice is readily available.

The gearing is an important thing to consider as well. Change the crown wheel and front sprocket and you've got a GP200 gearbox.
