Hi again guys,
Can anyone let me know of any pro's and con's of using a remote air filter please. My SX150 is currently running with an open carb and therefore spraying fuel and oil all over my panel and floorboards, albeit it runs just fine.
Thanks for any advice .

They run like your normal air filter box really , your carb may need re jetting
To suit though

And all that spitback will gather in the filter elbow, forcing you to take measures to deal with it; especially hot starting.
I deal with this by switching the fuel off in advance of stopping in an attempt to burn some of that spitback off.
A pro is that you want be drawing in sand and dust into your barrel, reducing wear on the barrel and rings.

I use an MRB filter that fits over the plastic bell mouth(on a dellorto carb). On my scoot the carb is not square to the panel,so has a gap between panel and filter at one side.It does soak up a lot of the spit back like this which has been a bonus & no re-jetting needed. My scoot runs well like this no starting issues at all.Effectively a sponge like this really.
