I picked up a 200cc small block cylinder kit last year and now have a crankcase to fit it to.
My question is do I need to change the con rod for a different length ? or pack the cylinder to adjust length or is it just a straight swop ?

If it's designed to fit a small block casing it will be for the standard stroke of 58mm and rod
You could get a extra few cc (205) with a 60mm Stoke and have some room to play with the timings a little.
A longer rod, say 110, will give even more flexibility to adjust the port timings and squish.

thanks RC thats a very helpful reply . I took a punt on the kit as it was cheap but it came with no information..
I'll probably use the existing crank and rod initially and I can presumably adjust the squish with the gasket/s ?
Usefull to know that I can use a longer stroke .If I decide to fit a GP crank....... what is the standard GP rod length ?
