Temperature senders

Postby ste s one » Thu Jun 05, 2014 11:57 am

Can any electronic type wizard tell me whether there's any reason why the temperature senders from the SIP / KOSO speedos couldn't have the connector changed and be used on the Trailtech Vapor and TTO gauges ? I have these gauges on several scooters and find them accurate and reliable with the exception of the senders which are quite flimsy and easily broken.
These cost around £30 to replace and the complete TTO unit is only £40. The SIP /KOSO senders are £16 and come with 4 spare detachable rings , the whole thing looks stronger as well. The idea is to put the right connector onto the SIP / KOSO sender and connect to the Trailtech units .
Will this work ??

Thanks

Steve

Fantastic , thanks for the info Eden. I've found the connectors for 90p at RS components so I'll order some and give it a go.
As you say , the reading is irrelevant , just a reference point. I've got 4 different gauges with completely different readings but I know where each bike runs.
Cheers for your help mate.

couldn't you check the readings by dunking the sensor in boiling water it should read 100 deg c then you will know if its somewhere near.
