Anyone used GP150 box with 17/46 to get 5.0 FD
5.0 is the recommended, this over an LI 150 with 16/47 which I don't have...
Ive got all the parts and wanted to use them up
Just wondered what it would be like through the gears...
Cheers

I used that gearing on a home tuned 175 i built a few years back. It was acceptable and nothing more.
That was with a bgm v3 clubman.
I swapped the pipe for an old expansion that mick Abbey had lying around and it became almost unusable. The big jump from 3 to 4 was too much unless going downhill with a tailwind

My go to choice unless a 5 speed is justified.
But always worth considering an af 4 speed close ratio; direct from af only though as quality control is well below par.

The choice of exhaust will be a major factor..........

SIL GP 200 with 19/46 going in - always worked well for me on TS1s 200 and 225
