AF Clo5e question

Hi all

I am considering a AF Clo5e gearbox for a new engine build (TS1 230) and I would like to know if you can use an uprated selector spring, I ask because I have a Cyclone in another engine and I was advised to use a soft selector spring. This in turn makes gear selection anything but positive causing me to often find a false neutral so I am a bit wary to give it the beans through the gears. Does the AF box have similar characteristics or is the gear selection more "positive" ?

Also is there anything else with the clo5e that I need to consider?

Hi,

i have the supplied AF spring in my 5 speed box & tbh it's fine. I'm gonna be changing the ratio of my gearing, so while i am in there i'm gonna put the "blue" Casa spring in as i have used these before & i like their weight.

Not too stiff like an MB, but strong enough to give as you say a "positive" selection. As recommended by Scotty who uses them in his race motors.

I hope this helps, Steve.

Thanks Steve

That's good information, so is the Casa spring stronger than the AF spring?

i'll check out the Casa blue spring, thanks

Is anyone having any issues with false neutrals with the AF box or do you find it OK?
