Trying to fix a mates TV175 and its apparent that his crank is knackered around the keyway , thinking of upgrading to a GP crank so question is does anyone sell a GP crank with a TV conrod or would it have to be custom made ?

There are a few companies making quality 58 x 116 GP tapered cranks, including AF, Casa Performance and SIP.

If the TV 175 engine is completely standard & the intention is to keep it that way, then by exchanging the OEM crankshaft (unique to the 175) you will alter the balance factor.

IMO & experience the TV 175 was one of the most delightful engines produced because of that. That would explain why Innocenti persevered with it, rather than 'rationalise' production & fit the shorter con rod Li type.

If not a new replacement, I would suggest place a WANTED on this site for a used one before committing to any alternative ;)

I have just done exactly that to my standard TV175.

I got a GP taper crank off Martin at Just Lambretta.

I went to 116 x 60 stroke too and in my opinion the TV performs even better than it did with the 116 x 58 crank that is standard. It has lost none of its low down torque but has gained a bit more on top. 1mm base gasket and a 1mm head gasket with 1.2 squish. Love it

You should also consider a new flywheel if the taper surface has been scored badly.

Look around and I’m sure you can find some remade 58x116 ones. I run my TV175 with the original crank with a lighter electronic flywheel(the only upgrade) so I’m not worried about the tapper snapping.
TV cylinders with Suzuki TS185 pistons are a very easy conversion if you use a 60x115 crank and if you want to go in that direction.
