Finally got all the piece of the puzzle and fited over the weekend.
Initial thoughts are wow!!.
So much crisper , timing marks are absolutly solid when strobed.
Also the old system is still in place so flck a switch and change the ht lead and any issues are gone.

Can the DC CDI be retrofitted to existing Scootronics CDI / coil set up?

I believe so, he only sells one type of external pickup.

the dc cdi unit has what anthony calls a universal power feed, it can supplied with ac or dc, i opted for the dc version as i wanted a better spark when starting my scoot as its got a lot of compression, mine is switched on by the lighting circuit, as i always ride with lights on.

All mines from Mr tambs.
External pickup a.c. rectifier with dc output.
Dc cdi but I believe he does a universal one a.c. dc.
I have a battery in a lamfab battery tray..
I think even if I have multiple component failure I can still get home.
The battery is 6 A.H and Mr tambs r econs that's 12 hrs worth.
I'll also carry a spare and a small 240v charger.
After last year's stator failure and the spare being duff I'm a bit paranoid.
Without wanting to curse myself all my break downs for the last few years have been stator.
