Hi guys and gals, I'm having problems with my ts1, everyone tells me it's running rich and spits out a lot through the open mouth carb, but I don't really why this is ( rich wise ) or do all carbs put out through the bellmouth.

I am using 30mm phbh carb , 135 main, 65 pilot, Av 268 atom , 50 slide , x7 needle 2nd from top , mixture 1 and 3/4 out. Ngk br9 plug, which is always oily on plug checks , bike runs good and averages about 35mpg, with all my gear and me 18st ish , don't know where to turn .Any advice greatly received

Spit back should almost be eliminated with reed valves, that being the point of ‘one way traffic’ ensuring entrapment of the charge.

Your reeds should be your first check.

However, pilot jet 65 sounds way too rich (Rayspeed suggest 55), as does an AV268 (Rayspeed suggest AV266 & slide 30 - 40)
