So I bought this GT (TV) 200, I prefer GT200 so that's what I call it

So I bought this with a clear plan in mind as to what I wanted to do with it, it had the wrong mudguard on and the paint job wasn't the best but a decent straight bike with frame & engine numbers a mere 4 apart

Image

I took off the screen and rear carrier, added a sebring rack, inline wheel carrier and lever shrouds and drove it round for a few months to see that needed doing

then as it headed towards winter I got in touch with Jarv (Byron on here) to do the wassel conversion and change over the light switch to operate the pathfinders I had now fitted, I also had a 12v usb charger fitted

Whilst this was going on I set about getting the bits I wanted to finish the bike and trial fitting etc

Around Feb I stripped it down whilst spending hours colouring in the pencil drawings of this site with different colour schemes and designs, but always coming back to the final finish

off it went to the painter, who said it would be 2-3 weeks, he doesn't do it as a profession so he books it in as a job and does it until its finished, not like your usual painter who quotes a month that soon becomes 6

Original fibreglass mudguard purchased of the GT200 guru Colin

then around March with the bike back I started the rebuild

Not gonna lie and say it was easy, had a few hours/days when I hated the bloody thing but when I was finished I was over the moon

The inspiration for the colours was a pair of socks I own,
Image
I took them into the paint suppliers to get a match
we came up with
Ford Modena Green, Ford Diamond White and Cadburys Purple

I wanted a bike that could have been a circa 1970 daily rider but also raced at the IOW scooter weeks and I think I have achieved that

it was my birthday Tuesday and I got this

cheers

nice job ! a lot of work painstaking work there .
The colour scheme works surprisingly well considering the old saying 'blue and green should never be seen unless theres a colour in between'
Diamond white creates some seperation and some highlights ,its actually a Ford Transit colour ;)
yep it looks grand for sure
