I've taken the plunge again into resurrecting another S2. This time I've managed to get a better frame than the last one.

Here's the last one


And this is how it ended up


Won't be doing a full on restoration with new paint, as I always manage to scratch it. So I'm gonna try and find rusty/tatty original painted parts to use. (donations kindly received)

I've got a couple of bits and manage to get hold of a horn casing last week.

I've been having a little play around over the weekend whilst waiting for some bit's to turn up. I had an old headset top which I got blasted a few years ago and found it had 5 holes in it. So a bit of filler then primer, a few coat of paint then sand it back and chuck a load of gravel at it and instant patina









Gonna leave it outside for a few weeks
to weather it.

Wow the headset top looks bang on !.... Very easy to over do making new paint look original....trick is knowing when to stop , and I think that looks good , not overly rubbed off and in the placed it would of naturally been rubbed off . With some nice chips and scratches difficult bit now getting the rest to match

Distressing never occurred to me before your post ! doh! I might consider doing that to a few pieces that are badly rusted on my scoot now

Its a great way of achieving a used patination but also managing to treat and prevent further rusting whilst improving the overall look of the scoot.

Agree well done with the headset and that frame looks a little better than the last one you did
