Hi Eden.
I had a look at your GP outside of wickstead last week. There's just something about a well used scoot ( and yours defo is ) that looks cool. I had an ochre GP that my layshaft snapped on. This chucked the scoot down the road bending the frame. This resulted in a resto rebuild. If this hadn't happened I would have left it as it was. But I have another scoot that's reasonably tidy. You can bet out of the 2 if i took them both out the tidy one always come back chipped or marked in someway. The very used one would never get a mark or chip. Apart from all the ones it already had. Which was a lot but I liked it.
Your scoot your choice and only you know what you want to do. But there's also something I like about a reckonisable scoot. Knowing who's who on the way to and from rally's.

You can't buy your memories, and there'll be plenty more for you on the same scooter, just ensure the wear and tear doesn't go too far.

You can only ride one scooter at a time (and you clearly have a few engines, for any mishaps that might occur ).

There's too many 'Italian' Lambretta's that never see the miles, never get ridden as they were intended, and their owners mistakenly believe they will continue to increase in value. Unfortunately in the next 5-10 years, the current crop of active Lambretta riders will reduce and never be what we have been part of in the last 10-15 years.

How much will your GP be worth to someone else then? Nothing really, other than what you consider your memories are worth - but you can't buy your memories......

This is exactly why I bought and built my Vijai... then I grew to love that too!

Eden the one good thing with yours is that with the amount of miles you do you know what fits and what needs fettling , what I tend to do is build up the panel work then bang an engine in and you can see what's catching and what's not right before painting or refurbing the trouble is when you get them painted they need cleaning and looking after cosmetically I tend to stick with the solid ratty type look to save doing that

sorry if this has been discussed before but where did you get hold off the panel bags (and what do you use to protect the paintwork)?

I use the Oxford Panniers Cheap enough when i bought them just looked now and they have gone up a bit ! you also get Waterproof covers with them theres probably better out there but for the price ive had mine @ 5 years for the matting ive used wilco draw lining cheap and does the job .
