Changed the reg number to make it look like a 1971 model.
Ignition hole in the rear beside the seat gives it away.
That'll be why you can't use the black & silver plate

Vehicles manufactured before 1st January 1973 can legally use black & white/silver number plates.
Note manufactured not registered.
If the scooter is registered in 1971 the assumption is that it must have been manufactured before being registered.
In this instance the registered date may be incorrect but if the documentation states that then technically black & white plates can be used.

I have an MG that was registered in June 1973, but I have a dating certificate stating that it was manufactured in Sept 1972.
Can legally use black & white plates & free tax. :)

Was just replying to the spot the difference question landybretta.Got a 73 Serveta 200 myself that someone has
transformed into an SX200 look alike and to be honest I've always liked them better as they should be with the
Li clip on panels and in Mustard Yellow with grey rubbers.I've also got an 89 Serveta 200 and both of them ride
better than my Italian GPs.
Little bit off subject there, anyway enjoy riding it, it's a cracking looking scooter

Was having an Anorak moment at the time
