That's probably because they kept it secret.

Then why come on the LCGB forum (or any scooter forum) and come over as gloating about it :? :?

Sorry if this wasn't the intention, but that's how it reads.....

Encouraging Lambretta owners to get out on their scooters and enjoy riding them with likeminded others is at the heart of what the LCGB is primarily about, even though there is a BSM signing on event in York this weekend, some LCGB members might have been interested in riding there scooters from North to South Wales, but it appears if you haven't been invited you're not welcome :(

I don't think it was intended that way, just my opinion.
It seems it's something they organised for them selves and feel for whatever reason huge numbers would spoil it.
Prehaps they feel Short notice would only apeal to the type of rider they want.
A local shop for local people.

Good liuck guys and if it works, talk to Craig and maybe open it up next year to the whole club.

Gloating  it certainly wasn't meant to be . I have put this run up before as something different a year or two ago , it is only ridden by a few people not through choice just the way it is , I will put the dates up for next years run as soon as i hear anything if anyone fancies it .

I will try to get in touch with whoever organises the event and see if that's what they want to do .

To be honest Scooterlam i dont think they would go through the agm its just a Sat ride down to Barry few beers with a dj and back again Sun , Whether it be lambrettas , vespas or autos . Ok its mostly locals who do it but i thought it might appeal to some lcgb members looking for something a bit different from the norm , sorry i mentioned it i wont bother again .

I think it was a fair gesture, done with right the intentions but it did coincide with an official LCGB signing on event which the LCGB site promotes.

Advertising any event should be really put to a LCGB committee man first, just to be sure no toes are being stepped on.

I read it this way.

Welsh C2c is happening on Saturday morning, I know it's short notice but if you fancy it come along.
Can't say fairer than that. It's just a pity I am working again. I probably wouldn't make it anyway with my track record lol

Anyway, anybody who is partaking have a great time ,I only wish I was coming along.

Happy and safe scootering which ever marque you ride :D

OP
Sorry if you felt put upon,
Enjoy the ride and put a few pics up if you can.
You may have sown a seed, someone else may take it up as a future event.

Ride safe

Great ride down on Sat for the 20 scooters that turned up , one guy from Aberdeen another that rode up from London on the Sat morning and a couple from Barnsley  . There was a cracking do put on for us at a club in Barry by the South Wales crew , free chicken curry / rice and a buffet later on , there was a band on , four young lads who were very good and then the dj took over all in all a good night was had . Sun morning seems to be just like every other run people do there own thing getting home slowly or as quick as possible . Hope everybody that did York had a very good time and all got there and back safely . Think there's some snaps on the Wrexham sc website or there should be soon .
Cheers Amb .

Took us 8hrs to get there , you know what its like when there's a fairly large group of you , but it was all chilled riding taking in the scenery . Coming home just the two of us it was more like 5hrs and we stopped of for a bacon butty and coffee at a bikers roadside butty van with the most beautiful views 8-) oh and 3 petrol stops . Nobody got pulled Eden :D .

Sounds like is was (is) a great event, and something that any scooter rider would love to take part in.

A 'Welsh' C2C is an event that potentially ticks a lot of boxes in respect of somewhere different to ride from/to, new locations, different roads, and just generally a challenge to most.

Such and event has the real possibility of growing significantly, however fully respect those that currently organise it and if it isn't something that they want to have 100+ riders on, then keep it secret and we'll all be left wondering when it will happen in 2016??

Just like the NSRA years all over again, eh Eden ;)
