4 Nations Rally 2014

Postby Noddabodder » Wed Sep 03, 2014 4:39 pm

Hi all

First post and I come with cap in hand. I'm after a ticket for the 4 Nations Rally in Ballycastle in October.

I know all allocations have been erm... allocated but am hoping there is some re-allocation process in place for those that might drop out.

I've been in touch with various people in the know but have had no luck thus far, can anyone help?

Im guessing those in the know informed you of the waiting list run by the club ............... Contact Simon: Toot. here on the forum if you haven't yet applied to join said waiting list.

Im sure Simon will be able to give you more accurate details of the current position ................... Use the IM system provided by the club.

Cheers

The 4 Nations ticket application window is now well and truly closed. (The application deadline was 31st July)

The details of LCGB members has now gone off to the host club, ticket money transferred and no amendments will be made now as such as T-Shirts, etc have to be ordered by ULC.

Despite having over 40 LCGB members on our waiting list, (over and above the initial allocation of 100 tickets), everyone from the LCGB that applied within the ticket application deadline, and still wanted a ticket, have been successful.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Toot.

I know the criteria for the 4 Nations rally but I couldn't predict that I would have time available to attend back in July ( actually it's only now I find it's do-able). I understand about t-shirts etc but there are bound to be short notice drop outs and it seems a shame to waste those places.

I've tried e-mailing the ULC but have had no reply.

Id expect the ULC to inform you to go via your own LC in all honesty as the LCGB would do in the reverse situation

Id also be very surprised if they weren't aware the LCGB have 40+ members already on the LCGB standby list and if I was one of those folk id expect a ticket before someone not on the reserve list at all.

I fully understand its not easy to book time to go to Club events and id also be frustrated if at the 11th hour I found time ect but obviously the LCGB and other national clubs must follow some sort of procedure, the very same procedures which has help make these events so attractive to the membership of late.

Not what you want to hear I know and I hope in the future you are able to book in advance ............... If not and as you already suggest others may have done, just take a gamble in the future, I know ive taken the very same gamble a number of times myself when ive not been sure of time off ect.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that there's no chance of getting a ticket through the ULC.
Our allocation is used up and any spare places not taken up by the LCI & LCS have been allocated already by Toot to the LCGB members on their waiting list.
Even as a ULC committee member I had to apply and pay before the deadline to get a ticket and as mr weeks says some of us have gambled on being able to attend (i paid for the LCS 4nations knowing i probably couldn't get my weekend covered)
I'm sorry you're disappointed but if we didn't have a strict deadline we'd have loads of last minute applications and it would be much harder for us to organise what will hopefully be a memorable weekend.

Soooo, the official advice is for everyone to apply for tickets even if they only have a percentage chance of attending. Couldn't that have a negative affect on actual attendance?

Marty, if someone on this forum can't make it to the rally at short notice and PM's me with his ticket will I be excommunicated from all Lambretta clubs worldwide? ;)

I don't want to be a pain in the arse lads, I'm just scoping the options.

How the LCGB decides to distribute their allocation is a matter for the LCGB.
We have a list of participants similar to Eurolambrettas for signing in.
My advice to anyone who wants to go to future 4nations is to apply for a ticket before the deadline, not everyone wants to go on them and as toot has said so far any LCGB member who's applied in time has managed to get sorted.
