C2C and Derby event listed in Scootering mag

Cool, good to see the club offering more ridden events.
2 of the best in the same year.
Only question is how can they better the last C2C route.

Not a lot of riders who attended the last C to C did the planned route, most people did the hardknot pass and missed out on the Batteredbum pass , sorry, Buttertub pass . hopefully and quite rightly everyone will stick to the route next year as a lot of what it's about is seeing lots of other scooters on the road during the ride .

That must have been a different C2C than i did then as buttertub was packed

I did Buttertub and must say it was quite busy. Talking afterwards it seemed everyone had gone that way.....with only a few exceptions and those had got lost

We did hardknott as it seemed such a long way to come and not sample it "our first coast to coast" there where a few scooters heading that way on the ferry,. We will stick to the route this time, but hopefully it's included as it was a good challenge for my old 125cc and 8 inch wheels !.

Over the years there have been many C2C routes
Not all are the traditional dales and lakes route.
There is a pattern of alternating the Traditional route with one further north.
Personally im hoping for the traditional route.

Just reading this thread and its all gone over my head where does the C2C start and finish and what route does it take.

the "usual" route is the east coast to the west coast........usually somewhere in Yorkshire to somewhere in Cumbria (give or take a hundred miles or so ) There have been several different start and finish points over the last few years with different routes to suit.

Locations and the route aren't normally announced till the AGM in January.......bit unusual for the dates to be announced now.....nothing wrong in that just the source of the announcement.

Next year is shaping up quite well if they all happen... C2C, Derby 150 and South Downs will do nicely...!

The last time the C2C was on was the dates were released after the meeting, just with no route.

Are you suggesting that every club, National and Local should attend the BSRA meeting to ensure that nothing clashes? It could turn a very well ordered meeting into a bun-fight. I think your expectations are too high.

It is perhaps best to assume that your meeting will clash with another rally, but plan for it. There is no doubt that if you want a successful rally, you need to deliver the best experience so you attract either the biggest possible crowd, or the best attendees.

no, just clubs or members trying to organize events for members having a some sort of facility to avoid duplication and wasted effort. a post AGM meeting of interested parties with some input from the BSM controller which just might be beneficial to him or her as well as he or she could have some input into which direction they see the calendar going.


so I put in loads of effort and build the biggest bestest event only to find out at the AGM some one 5 mile down the road has gone to the same lengths to offer excacty the same thing on the same day. who benefits from that? where as with some communication we could combine our efforts so everyones a winner.
Or we could take the easy option and do bugger all.
