Yeah, that would've been me. :-/

Searching a venue, getting badges, stickers, complimentary pop, volunteers on site, dietary and beer requirements, sorting eight hours of playlists, e tickets and cheques with sae's, people badgering us for tickets after the cut off point, people selling their tickets then changing their minds, inboxes full of people asking the same questions for weeks on end... that was a doddle compared to organising that route.

It's difficult when there's only two roads that any sane person would use in that area, the A272 & the A27/M27.

We did the A272 on the way out so didn't really want to go back that way, nor did we want to send people down a motorway, so zig-zagging across country taking in some decent scenery was the way forward. I did it twice, done over £100 in petrol and doubled back several times. I had two satnavs on the go which kept trying to send me down single track farm roads, so I shouted at the devices on several occasions and stuck to my instincts. I understand I made one error, I apologise for that, but the unintended turn resolved itself as riders soon ended up on the road they were meant to.

Everyone got back and feedback suggests it went extremely well and all enjoyed it. I know I did. Especially Friday night.

Cheers to all that came, all 200 of you.

I feel your pain Andy. But I reckon it was a great success so worth it all in the end. As for the directions, without my glasses I can't read anything that small anyway, so I just follow whoever I happen to be behind

Organized ch@os works for me everytime, a proper laugh! Potentially PeeJays posse was the only lot that did the whole 'official' route... (?) Well glad that I've still got two eyes though - chipping chucked up by a mud flap into my right eye AAAAArgh n OUCH...

Absolute hoot from start to finish, well done to Derek and Andy plus all the others involved 8-)

489 mile for me by the time I got back to Norfolk just after 3pm, scooter ran as sweet as a nut all weekend and I only took a panel off at the last fuel stop to get my spare bottle of oil out of the storage box 8-) Hope everyone else got home safe.

I'd like to say a big thank you to all involved in organising the run, I had a great time and met some really top people. Great roads and scenery.
I hope the organisers won't take any adverse comments to heart, and understand that they're only meant as observations on, what was, their first event of this nature. A couple from me, as a first timer at one of these runs are that some mile indicators between turn points etc would have helped. A bit more of an organised start time, and maybe a couple of groups led by host club, to follow round. Like I say, not criticisms, just input
My funniest memory will be 9, very noisy Lambrettas taking a wrong turn into the tiny hamlet of Amberley, looking for the Riverside cafe! Don't think the elderly locals appreciated that!!

terry "blue and silver spanish special" and myself "moto rumi" did the whole route plus a few extra miles possibly by chance but also by picking villages mentioned on the route instructions and using a map to find them, however we enjoyed the whole event. there where some lovely stretches of road and everyone seemed to be having a great time, thanks to the organisers for all their efforts, we will be back again "with a sat nav :D " graham and terry from peterborough.

It's not as fast as it sounds  basic version with the 15mm carb, but the route suited it well.

I don't take it to heart mate. I already did two prototype routes & was advised they were too detailed & confusing, so I came to the conclusion there's only so much info you can put on 1 side of a piece of A4. ;)

Another great LCGB weekend, well done to all involved in organising it. Didn't quite follow all of the organised route after the Riverside Cafe but there were 9 in our group and we had a blast down some great fast sweeping roads afterwards that I really loved. On Sunday I took the opportunity to visit Brighton as I have never been, before heading to Hastings to check out a Lambretta for sale for a mate and then back up to Cheshire.

I was going to post some more pics but there is a far better collection took by someone (Andy BLC ) with more of an idea of how to use a camera than me in another thread.

Our group of 5 ended up in Amberly too, I saw a couple of faces at an upstairs window and shouted up if they new where the Riverside Café was. Chap came down with a small child and set me on the right route. I apologised for the disturbance but he just laughed and said something about having a bike of his own in the shed 8-) ....I was very easy on the throttle on the way back out mind

The 'Traveller' convention outside the pub on the way back into Eastleigh was a bit alarming, did anyone else see it, horses towing buggies rearing up and almost running amok...don't think our scooters were helping the situation much ;)

yeah, they were a bit twitchy, and the horses seemed unsettled too, don't think Jim's reverse cone pipe was calming them. Plus there was horse shit over the road, I didn't like to mention that to the chaps outside the pub though...

Would anyone like to do a different route next year if the committee gives its blessing? I reckon the Southern Run could be a bit 'Moor'ish.
