GT 150 kit with no cowlings plus centre plug ?

Has anyone run one of these kits without the fan and cowlings fitted.
I’m currently building a race replica with cut down legshields and prefer the non cowl look . I will be running electronic ignition and an uprated crank .
I guess I need to rotate the head for better air flow just wondering if anyone else has any experience of running with no cowlings.
I also noticed that the heads could take a centre spark plug quite easily again anyone tried this.

You don’t say what machine are you considering fitting this kit to?
My initial observation would be that cowlings are fitted around the cylinders for a very good reason, namely for the flywheel fan blades to force circulation of cool air around and then away from the cylinder. Without the cowlings you would be left without that forced airflow and be reliant on undirected, ambient temperatures. The passage of that air is blocked from direct flow onto the cylinder by frame members.
The consequence of dispensing with cowlings around the cylinder could therefore lead to, at least poor cooling and at worst, hot-spotting.

Oops sorry forgot to mention it’s a model D .
I have asked this question elsewhere directly to a number of people including the supplier of the kits and also to the manufacturer .
The replies come back 50/50 the supplier wouldn’t recommend it but hasn’t tried it , the manufacturer said yes it wouldn’t be a problem as several other people have done exactly what I was suggesting.
So I have decided to run with the cowlings on for the period of running in and see how it goes then possibly remove them awards depending on what circumstances I will be using the scooter for . I have also decided to go for the central plug conversion as I had previously converted the original fuel tank to allow for a central plug.
