hello,
had hot start problem for years had suspected choke was staying on,
changed faulty fuel tap and choke plunger, problem gone,
i have set choke up and can see plunger moving up and down through hole in carb ,but when i start from cold scooter kicks up ok but doesnt race on with choke,i need to throttle, is this just a case of moving my choke up a bit,i am a bit worried i alter to much and it doesnt close off properly and i have same problem as before, assuming it was the choke that caused my hot start problem in first place, just another small thing the hole in carb where you can view your choke, the bottom of plunger is visable should it be half way up hole to be on full, just now i can see it just at bottom.........

There are no 'fast idle' settings on any two stroke carb I can think of so on choke it should tick over pretty much as normal. The main setting for your choke cable is that it is fully seated down when off. If it's not fully open when 'on' then the cable needs adjusting. If this setting doesn't allow it to seat when 'off' then the choke mechanism has wear in it. I hope this helps.

You might just need to tweek up your idle speed a little.

Changing the jet size can alter how fast it idles and I've found how far the plunger lifts alters the idle speed as well. If you think about it, when the plunger lifts only a fraction the draw from the engine vacuum pulls the mixture up the jet. So the higher the plunger the more air mixes with the choke jets fuel . That's my theory anyway :geek:
