Any tips for removing top fork bearing cup? (S3 non chrome ring) Is there a tool?
Thought I'd Best check before I set about it with a hammer

The top bearing race is knocked out by using a long bar pushed up the headstock tube from below.Have you got Sticky's complete spanners manual,if not you would be well advised to buy a copy,the instructions are on page 213.

I found a long piece of angle iron worked well as a "Drift" just make sure the end is cut square and some heat and penetrating fluid helps (Plus Gas or the like)
Was a bit apprehensive as "Stickys" says they can be hard to remove maybe I was lucky but it was no big deal

A decent weight hammer is a must and one word of caution make sure the drift is actually against the bearing race and not the steering stop as if you knock that off by mistake lord knows how you get in to weld that back on
