I don't think so. Neither is it for the fuel tap rod.

Don't think it could have been any of the above, or they wouldn't have made the plastic toolbox full size. I would have said it was cheaper maybe, but I doubt it. I wonder if the Spanish might have been on to something when they fitted a filter there? Perhaps Innocenti were thinking on similar lines? We shall probably never know.

I did also wonder if it was a legacy thing. That picture of yours sort of confirms it I think Dimitrios. It's easier to get to the air filter.

Ahh. I like the idea of the legacy from the S1 175.

I am planning to make the 'box slimmer so I can fit a larger tank. I have done this sort of thing many times before, but always for others. As I have a legshield box too, the underseat box will be dedicated to my wet weather gear, assuming I can find some kit that will fold-up small enough to go in there. The space in the box might be further compromised by the inclusion of a gel-filled battery.

What fun.

I wondered this as well a few months ago and asked the question in the FAQs section.
The only response I got was that it was to allow for adjustment of the carb?
Still, on my next scooter rebuild I intend to make a fully symmetrical tool box :)

That's why I am asking the question David, just in case I am too hasty.
