Li125 S3 engine rebuild.

Hi all,
I am rebuilding an Li125 S3 engine and need some advice on a top end upgrade. I am aware of previous threads regarding this but it seems it's all down to the intended use of the bike. I bought the scooter as a project with the intention of getting it road worthy and just running it as it is until I pass my bike test so I can get a better one to upgrade. With that in mind I don't intend modifing this one apart from a GP crank, and registering it as a 125cc.
Hearing that the 125 is a bit on the slow side and not seeing many 125 barrel and piston kits around it possible to fit a 150 kit and keep existing carb and gearing etc.
Cheers

Hi Graytommo,
Yes you can fit a 150 top end , what carb are you using, if you are going to fit a gp crank, also fit an electronic ignition kit, as for the gearing someone else will answer that one for you.

Hi Stag
I did buy a electronic kit for the Li crank but would have to get one to fit the GP crank. Carb is the standard SH 18.

Hi yes you will have to get a kit to fit the GP crank, there are plenty to chose from, as for the carb you would be better with a Scootopia SH2/22 22mm carburettor I can not fault them, much better than the cheep Jetex carb that can be very problematic .
