I need to get my resto an mot for it's first registration. Can I get it mot'd without the panelwork fitted i.e. legshields, runners etc. Or does it need to be full bodied for the mot.

Not 100% certain on this but Skelly's get mot'd without so I don't see why not but I am sure Shaun will be along soon to correct me. You will however need to have it fully built if DVLA select it for SGS inspection,

Thanks Rich, I was thinking along the same lines as you regarding skelly's being mot'd. I've spoken to a local MOT station and he says that it can be Mot'd as long as everything is working as it should. Thanks again.

Make sure you have the ends of the struts covered and padded, otherwise it could fail on having dangerous parts.

Well it passed the MOT without panelwork fitted. I cable tied all loose wires and cables and cable tied pipe insulation around the struts for safety. Well happy with that, now to send of the paperwork to DVLA. Wish me luck

V5 received in the post today. Took two weeks from posting including a bank holiday. Piece of cake, I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Not a Lambretta but I've just registered a 1955 s57 Peugeot scooter. V5 back in just over 2 weeks including an SGS home inspection. No MOT or Insurance required. Luck of the draw I reckon..
