Hi All,
A mate of mine is trying to get his Indian lammy registered ,he has the nova form, but DVLA want to inspect the scoot, I presume it would be someone from VOSA that will be looking at it .Does this happen a lot with import scooters. I know that they can have a look at vehicles that cherish numbers are coming of, just to check the chassis frame number are correct, Any comments and the reason behind this visit would be helpful.
Cheers

Hi
Both my mate and I had an inspector check out our scoots in the summer. They just check the frame number and take a couple of pics...

Yes they are jobsworths and just need to confirm that the frame and engine numbers correspond to that said on the paperwork.
Just be polite and smile and dont give them any reason to reject your application.

Hi
I registered my Li 125 last year along with another club member who registered his Li150 at the same time .
I found the private company who the DVLA use to do the inspections really friendly and easy to deal with, as previously said just be polite.
The guy who came was'nt an expert by any means, all he does is check the scooter is what you say it is .It must be complete (not a box of bits) and the vin number must be visible and matches the paperwork you sent in .
As with any official remember you need him on your side so be polite.
This was the first time I had imported and restored anything I just followed the advice from LCGB and the sample V55 on cam lams web site and the whole process was reasonably painless.
Oh yes did I mention BE POLITE !
