Hi,
I am currently recovering from a broken left hand, grip is not so good.
I am looking at solutions to make the use of the clutch easier eg AF Rayspeed Easy Clutch etc.
What have others used as a answer to this problem
TIA

I can vouch for this Chiselspeed conversion. I have it on an LTH 7 plate and the clutch is as soft as on my standard TV175. It’s not cheap but it works.
https://www.chiselspeed.co.uk/store/product/CST845465BI tried the AF easy clutch but gave up. It made the difference between a slipping clutch and a dragging clutch to be almost non existent. I could probably have persisted with every available permutation but I lost patience and took it off.

I have a LTH 7 plate clutch in the sidecar engine and Martin at Chiselspeed recommended using standard springs in the clutch when I mention the clutch was stiff to use. I did so and it is much easier and up to now as worked fine.

I've tried both and the Chiselspeed was by far the best option. The dearest but the best. That's not to say that the AF didn't work because it did. I tried the AF on a st'd clutch with MB springs at first, this was despite most people saying it doesn't work with st'd clutches but it did help. I then tried it with an AF Road cassette which was an improvement again but still not as good as the Chiselspeed.

Have you tried Derek Dowlings easy clutch?

I'd definitely recommend this option, arguably one of the most practical conversions available for a Lambretta engine. Especially anyone (like me) now suffering with aching hands/fingers from many years of winter riding when I was younger.
I fitted my conversion before riding to the Euro in Poland and it made the journey an absolute pleasure. I'll definitely get this done for any other 'performance' engines with an up rated clutch. (I have an AF Race Clutch in my TS1). I can pull in the clutch lever with one finger now.

Spot on, best of luck for your recovery.

Agreed. Would definately recommend. Just put one on Wendy's TS1....superb bit of kit.

Tbh i used the original clutch arm, the uni arm didn’t sit to well on the uni spline’s sod the fetling as
as it is all interchangeable it’s only the rack and pinion that makes the difference anyway and it does it really well.

Hi Steve, I've heard a lot of negative feedback about these. Some say it reduces the adjustment between Clutch slip and Clutch drag massively and they have taken them off.

Paul, I used the notch nearest the tyre, so in theory I could go back to the st'd Innocenti clutch arm also.

I did the same too, Rich. Anyway, I no longer have the Easi Clutch. I was just curious as to whether it was set to one of the notches nearer the pivot of the lever.

Hi Rich,
Strange? We tried the AF set up & i couldn't get to work at all, but with Derek's Mk4 version no probs, i measured it before & after & it has the same cable travel with the same clutch & dogleg lever, just a quite noticeable lighter feel at the lever?
Weeksey has one on, which seem's to work great, so that's what prompted us to try one on Wendys... tho not rallied it yet for a proper testing, so far so good.

Steve, i'm not knocking it as i've not tried one but just going on what's been reported.

Thanks to all who replied to this Post.
Plenty to think about while trying to build the grip in my hand back.

I highly recommend the Chiselspeed conversion. Expensive but I’d say worth every penny.

I take it, this is Derek Dowling's mechanism?
