Hi Guys,
How are these conversions looked upon within the Scooter community?
My fingers etc are all getting older and stiffer and I thought a classic auto conversion might keep me going for another few years.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

its a personal thing,

my opinion is far better than a vespa.
if its that or not riding its a no brainer.

Agreed, if you want to or need to do it then go for it... especially if it keeps you riding

Choice is personal dependant on many factors.

Health has to be your major consideration, & if I were you, I'd weigh up the pro's & con's of converting what you have, or buying a Lambretta 'clone' that would be probably cheaper & far easier to do, rather than re-engineer your own classic. Chances are, you would be financially better off to buy into the brand new option, & a converted original is never going to be a 'real' Lambretta, any more than the clones are, is it?

Don’t know if you are on Facebook but Jon Betts of JB Fabrication is selling a nice Triumph Tigress auto conversion at the moment. Something a little different.

my opinion would be to go for a Scomadi - easier than converting an original and at least the guys behind the Scomadi brand are passionate about lambrettas, which is more than can be said for the other types of clones.
But then again its your personal choice!
