Wishbone Pawls

I'm in the process of replacing my layshaft and while at it I thought it worthwhile replacing the wishbone pawls as the sliding dog is new as well. They fit nice and snug in the dog but there is no play at all which I guess will come in time once they wear a bit. Does anyone know if this is normal?
