Rt195 gearing

Postby gp200ts1 » Fri May 10, 2024 7:38 pm

Have a rt195 with a bgm v3 box pipe and a 30mm phbh. It’s fitted with an li150 gearbox running 16-46 sprockets. It feels revvy to me and I wonder how much better it would be with 17 tooth front sprocket. Anyone running that sprocket set up and does it pull ok? I'm 14 stone by the way.

You are on the right gearing

Moving up to 17t front sprocket will make you go faster on a flat road - but will cause issues going up hills, headwinds etc. It makes it hardwork constantly chasing gears to keep it in the rev range.
